It is a cool and beautiful starlit night here in northern VA. I'm Autumn chillin' on the deck with June and Cyn. I've got mellow Mingus on the beat-box and a succulent steak on the grill. All is all right in my universe tonight. I hope all is as well with you too.

This upcoming weekend is a particularly proud and prestigious weekend for Silverthree, as both Soft Complex and Two If By Sea will be hosting record release parties in our Nation's Capitol.

First up - this Friday night, on the Black Cat main stage, join Soft Complex and their very special guests Cedars, Monopoli, and Yellow Fever in celebration of Barcelona+, SC's forthcoming debut EP on Silverthree.

Saturday at DC9 - Two If By Sea, with friends The Hard Tomorrows and Deleted Scenes, will rock and rejoice the release of Safety, TIBS's stellar sophomore effort- their first for Silverthree.
I declare-infinite crazy good times!!

These records will become available physically and/or digitally at music stores and sites everywhere on October 17th.
Um…but…pssstt…you get 'em at the shows now.
It's a secret. So, naturally, tell your friends.

Peace, Love, and Anarchy.

Cheers party people!

Two If By Sea - Safety cover artThis Saturday night, September 9th at the Ottobar in Baltimore City, join Two If By Sea as they celebrate the release of their Silverthree Sound Recordings debut Safety. They are calling it a party and have invited special guests The Oranges Band and The Whigs to join in the fun. TIBS will be pulling out all the stops for the hometown crowd with several singular surprises in the mix. This will be a truly special event that you will not want to miss. The new CD will be available at the show!!

Safety is slated for an October 17th release to retail and digital stores everywhere.

Retisonic are currently touring in support of their new EP Levittown - recently released by our good friends at Ascetic Records. The boys make stops at Baltimore’s Talking Head this Wednesday night 9/6 and DC on Thursday 9/7 at The Red and The Black. Sharing the bill will be Ascetic label mates and another personal favorite Riddle of Steel. I implore all lovers of live rock music to catch one of these shows.  Both of these bands thrive in the live set - sweat and chops galore. Check our tour page in hopes they play a venue near you. If they do, don’t miss out.

See ya.

There's life in the pond after all :)

Listen up rock n' rollers -

We of Silverthree are going to be at DC9 this Saturday night to suck down some suds and soak in the sounds of Middle Distance Runner.  We caught these Cats a few moons back at the Galaxy Hut in Arlington, VA and, dare I say, it was a magical experience.  Third Programme, another local fave, are also on the bill.  It is sure be a fine night of music.

Come out and support the scene.  It feels good.

Cheers.

Well, it’s just become official, my lil’ front yard pond is now just a water feature.  A plague fell upon our “puddle of love” but three days ago.  Sadly, I just spooned the fifth and final floating koi found still in its stirring waters.  I’m bummed.

Well, for me, there is no better way to shake all that ails and agonizes than going out to the rock n’ roll show.  Fortunately, in and about DC this weekend, that opportunity is on. This Friday night you can see Soft Complex at Iota in Arlington, opening the show for Telograph and Cedars. The show starts at approx. 9:30pm. Do not be late.  Same night different venue - Two If By Sea play the Black Cat main stage as part of a Capital City meets Charm City showcase. They are the middle band of three, following a set from The Hard Tomorrows and preceding The Bonapartes. TIBS set is at approx. 11pm.

Next Friday, the Charm City meets Capital City shindig moves to Baltimore’s Sonar and will feature both Two If By Sea and Soft Complex along with The Hard Tomorrows and The Heavycoats.

I hope to see ya at the shows.

More soon.

Delirium Noel to you all.

My belief is that the Belgians brew the best ales because they infuse rich ingredients and patient practice. Soooo I may have mentioned a possible May release for the Silverthree debut EP from Soft Complex and I'm extremely excited for this release. However, it appears I'm a bit overzealous because of that. August is the reality and its for good reason. When Soft Complex went to their peers requesting remixes for the EP, the response was greater
then they had hoped for. So, the ingredients are rich. Let's be patient.

Locally, you can get your Soft Complex fix fulfilled this weekend. For this Saturday night, you can drink in Georgie James, Soft Complex, and Exit Clov, three of the most promising bands on the DC scene at the Black Cat.

Two If By Sea will play the Sophomore showcase in their month long residency stint at DC9 tomorrow night. They slayed last week. We had a gas. This week they're joined by DC's Third Programme and Philly's Audible.

Hope to see you at the shows.

Silverthree is slowly, certain and surely, shaking out of this long winter’s slumber.  Springtime cannot come soon enough!  It’s a favorite time.  No offense to Ole’ Man Winter, I dig you too – I really dig all seasons – but Silverthree is set for the Sun’s touch.

Rebirth!

This Spring (in May, I pray agnosticly), we will bring you the debut release from DC’s Soft Complex.  It will be an extended play – four songs, plus several remixes, rearrangements, and redos – all great.

Also this Spring, the latest addition to our family, Baltimore’s Two If By Sea, will enter the studio with our friend and producer extraordinaire J. Robbins to record their full-length Silverthree debut.  We’ve been great fans and supporters of this band ever since we first laid ears on them many moons ago and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to share them with you.  They are gigging in and about the Mid-Atlantic area in the coming months, including a headline spot this Saturday at Sonar in B’more and Wednesday night at DC9 with NYC’s Asobi Seksu.  They will set up residency at DC9 in April, playing every Thursday night, honing their tunes in time for recording.

Mock Orange is reporting good fun and great success from their current European jaunt.  MO Joe reports that the shows have been fantastic and they are earning many new fans.  That’s what it’s all about.  Sadly, the band’s van was broken into a few days back while they were playing in Spain.  They lost a lot of personal items, merch, and Joe’s passport.  Our hearts sunk with the news.  They had to cancel the duration of the tour.  Check Alternative Press.  They have a picture of the Hamburgler.  Check www.MockOrange.net for the sordid details.

Spring…come she will.
